Vienna’s flagship market fills the square in front of the neo-Gothic City Hall, with the surrounding park strung with lit hearts and the trees turned into an illuminated walk. There is an ice rink, a carousel, and a great deal of Punsch. The smaller markets at Schönbrunn, Spittelberg and Karlsplatz are quieter and, for many visitors, more charming.
