Tallinn Christmas Market

Tallinn’s Town Hall Square claims the first public Christmas tree in Europe, raised in 1441. The market is modest in size but the setting — a genuinely intact medieval old town, usually under snow — does the heavy lifting. Estonian black pudding, sauerkraut and hot spiced wine, with handicrafts in wool and juniper.
