Liverpool sets its market on St George’s Plateau, directly in front of St George’s Hall, and the colonnade lit up behind the stalls is the reason to come at dusk rather than lunchtime. Around 40 timber stalls cover craft, gifts and international street food, with funfair rides alongside. The separate Christmas Wonderland at the Pier Head adds a covered rink and thrill rides, and ‘Skate St George’s’ runs outdoors from late November into the new year.
