Winter Wonderland is less a Christmas market than a Christmas city, and it is the one Londoners mean when they say they are “going to Winter Wonderland”. Alongside the wooden market chalets there are rollercoasters, an ice rink, the Magical Ice Kingdom, circus shows and more than 150 attractions in total. Entry is ticketed rather than free — book a timed slot in advance, and note that Monday to Thursday through November is the cheap way in. It is enormous, it is busy, and it is best treated as a full day out rather than an hour of shopping.
