Christmas in the spa town of Harrogate — the main market's 2026 status is unclear, with conflicting reports.
The organiser has not yet confirmed this year's dates, and the dates circulating online are either estimates or carried over from a previous year — so we are not publishing them as fact. Sources conflict: one lists a December market, another reports that the Harrogate Christmas Fayre has been cancelled. We are waiting for clarity before listing any dates.

Harrogate is one of Yorkshire’s most elegant towns — a Victorian spa resort of crescents, gardens and tea rooms — and its Christmas season brings festive events across the town centre and in the Valley Gardens.
Why there are no dates here yet
We cannot yet confirm that Harrogate’s main Christmas market is running in 2026. One source lists a December market in the town centre; another reports that the Harrogate Christmas Fayre has been cancelled. Until there is an official announcement, we are not listing dates — the last thing we want is to send anyone to a market that is not there.
Other Christmas events in Harrogate
Several separate festive events have been reported for 2026, including a weekend artisan market in the Valley Gardens and a covered ice rink, and the Great Yorkshire Christmas Fair at the Great Yorkshire Showground is a large indoor shopping event in late November. These are organised independently of the town-centre market, so check each one on its own.
Getting there
Harrogate station is in the town centre, with direct trains from Leeds and York, and a few direct services from London.
Make a day of it
The Royal Pump Room museum, the Turkish Baths, the Valley Gardens and the Stray — two hundred acres of open grassland running through the town — make Harrogate a pleasant winter day out regardless. A visit to Bettys tea room is something of a local institution.
