Chester puts its market in Town Hall Square on Northgate Street, arranged around the city Christmas tree and overlooked by the Victorian Gothic town hall. The city itself does most of the work — the Rows, the black-and-white timbered frontages and the completest set of Roman walls in Britain are all within a few minutes’ walk. Around 80 traders, weighted towards Cheshire and North Wales food and craft producers.
