Leicester Square Christmas Market
A Christmas market in the heart of the West End — 2026 dates still to be confirmed.
The organiser has not yet confirmed this year's dates, and the dates circulating online are either estimates or carried over from a previous year — so we are not publishing them as fact. Only expected dates (early November to early January) have been published so far.
- Address
- Leicester Square, London WC2H
Leicester Square’s Christmas market fills the square at the heart of London’s West End with wooden chalets, decorations and, in recent years, a Christmas show in a big top. It is one of the most central of London’s markets, surrounded by cinemas, theatres and Chinatown.
Why there are no dates here yet
So far only expected dates have been published — running from early November into early January, based on previous years. The organisers have not confirmed the 2026 season, so we are waiting before listing anything.
What to expect
Based on recent years: festive stalls selling gifts and seasonal food and drink, in a compact square that gets very busy in the evenings. It is more of an atmosphere than a shopping destination — come for a mulled wine before a show.
Getting there
Leicester Square tube station is on the corner of the square; Piccadilly Circus and Charing Cross are a few minutes’ walk.
Make an evening of it
The square is in the middle of Theatreland. Covent Garden’s lights and tree, Regent Street’s illuminations and Trafalgar Square’s Christmas tree — the annual gift from Norway — are all within ten minutes’ walk.
When will we know?
We are checking the official source weekly and will update this page the day the dates are confirmed. In the meantime, our What’s open? tool shows the markets that have confirmed dates for any day you’re travelling.
When the dates are confirmed, dress for standing still outdoors in the cold — see our guide to what to wear.
