Southbank Centre Winter Market
Wooden chalets along the Thames by the London Eye — 2026 dates still to come from the Southbank Centre.
The organiser has not yet confirmed this year's dates, and the dates circulating online are either estimates or carried over from a previous year — so we are not publishing them as fact. The Southbank Centre has not yet published its 2026 Winter Market dates; only estimates based on previous years are circulating.
- Address
- Queen's Walk, Southbank Centre, London SE1
The Southbank Centre’s Winter Market runs along the Queen’s Walk beside the Thames, close to the London Eye, with wooden chalets of food, drink and crafts and a riverside view of Westminster. It is one of the longest-running of London’s Christmas markets.
Why there are no dates here yet
The Southbank Centre has said its 2026 winter programme starts in November but has not yet published the market’s dates. Estimates circulating online — early November to early January — are based on previous years, so we are not listing them.
What to expect
Based on recent years: a long riverside row of chalets with international street food, bars and craft traders, open into the evening, with the Southbank Centre’s own winter programme of concerts and shows alongside. In 2025–26 the market opened daily from 11am to 10pm, with craft traders closing earlier, and closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve.
Getting there
Waterloo station is about five minutes’ walk away; Embankment, across the Golden Jubilee footbridges, is a little further and gives the best view of the river on the way.
Make a day of it
The London Eye, the National Theatre, the BFI and the riverside walk east towards Tate Modern and Borough Market are all within easy reach.
When will we know?
We are checking the official source weekly and will update this page the day the dates are confirmed. In the meantime, our What’s open? tool shows the markets that have confirmed dates for any day you’re travelling.
When the dates are confirmed, dress for standing still outdoors in the cold — see our guide to what to wear.
