Swindon’s switch-on runs across Wharf Green and the Brunel Centre in the town centre, about five minutes’ walk from the railway station. Expect live entertainment from local schools, choirs and performers, a small festive market, and the countdown itself in the early evening, usually with a guest doing the honours. Free, and over in an afternoon. Swindon Borough Council publishes the running order nearer the date.
